August Barnla

August has been a stylist for over 20 years. She is dedicated to the art of hairdressing and has completed advanced training in L.A. and Vancouver, Canada. She established Helio Hair Studio in 2003 to offer a friendly, artistic, urban boutique style salon to the Fremont neighborhood. As part of her commitment to the hair industry, August enjoys mentoring junior stylists. She applies her interest in all elements of style and design to her craft. Creative and adept, ranging from classic to fashion forward, she is known for her precision haircuts and formulating beautiful, multi-dimensional color for her clients. 

Rachelle Smithson 

With over ten years of styling experience, Rachelle strives to bring modern, yet approachable design to men’s and women’s cuts. Rachelle takes great pride in her ability to stay on top of the latest trends and consistently attends classes to ensure she brings the best and latest to her clients. She is passionate about fashion and sees hair as an accessory that makes personal statement. She works closely with each client to find a style that is not only fashion-forward, but works with their lifestyle, personality and hair type. She specializes in creating rich, luminous color, consulting with each client to create a unique color profile that enhances their cut and style.  Rachelle is accepting new clients, and is available for professional photography and video shoots.

Anne Drury

Anne Drury joined Helio Hair Studio in 2009 following two years as an apprentice and stylist at Salon Joseph. She brings with her a warm professionalism along with a passion for excellence and perfection. Anne left an 18 year management career to pursue the opportunity to use her creative side, and is thrilled with her new career as a hairdresser.  Anne is a long time Fremont resident, graduate of WSU, as well as Greenwood Academy of Hair in 2007. Anne is inspired by change and enjoys assisting clients in creating new looks and styles that refresh and revitalize them. She also enjoys working with fine hair, creating the look and feel of fullness through the use of color, texture products and the perfect cut. Anne uses the L'Oreal Professional color line, including the new ammonia free INOA L'Oreal color.

Kyle James

Kyle James specializes in design and styling, having received advanced training from one of the Northwest's top salons and continuing education with L'Oreal stylist, Suzie Bond. He loves cutting short, funky hairstyles, working with curly hair and creating special occasion hairstyles. With a flair for the dramatic, Kyle James' eye for design borders on the extravagant and loves doing big, editorial hair as well. He comes from a theatrical and artistic background, working as a professional actor, director and running his own art studio gallery.
